Insane asylum in pevely missouri?

i went to this old abandoned insane asylum over the summer one night. I keep trying to find information or anything about it of why its abandoned, but i can not find anything. Its not to far from the Kristina house, its on Abbey Ln. in Pevely, Missouri. and is now on a golf course. ( you have to walk through the golf course to get up into the old building) so the building is still there is covered by some little trees but not much. If anyone can find info about this building or knows anything can you tell me please?
