Who else thinks that Federer will never regain the no.1 spot?

I really doubt Federer will see no.1 again. His game was a big threat over the last couple of years, but now there are some strong young players who have the weaponry to beat him - these are in addition to Rafa and Novak, who are in their prime. There is Del Potro, who is playing near-invincible tennis, Murray and a few others. Federer was fortunate at the US that Murray had to play on Sunday and was not well-rested for the final. Also, Novak played well below from in the semis, due to the emotional strain caused by his ill-advised rant about Rod and turning the audience against him. I think Federer decided to withdraw from most of the remaining tournaments because he knows that he is not intimidating any more - that other players can beat him. He shouldn't use the mono excuse anymore, since he was never affected by it, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten to both Wimby and French finals, getting completey crushed in the latter.
